MBOK GENDONG

One day in a village lived an old grandmother. She was called Mbok Gendong. She was widow. She replaced her husband work as a fisher.

One particular day, she brought a fish net to catch fish. She threw the net and drew it back. Once, when she drew the net back, there was a gold snail hooked in her net. She took it home and placed it in clean water. The day after that, she quit as fisher and sold a teak leave again. She was disappointed because it was not saleable.

When she got home, she found there was delicious food on the table. This happened every day, so she was eager to know who made the food. She pretended to leave home. She went back quickly and she was so surprised. There was a princess snail at her house. The princess was Candra Kirana. She told her that she was changed into a snail by a witch.

One morning there was a beggar who asked for food. Candra Kirana gave him some food. Suddenly, he changed into a handsome man. Actually, he was Morgan Kusuma Prince, Candra Kirana’s husband. Finally, the prince and princess lived happily and they took Mbok Gendong with them
